RACE 3 MARKS AN IMPROVEMENT WITH 4TH AND 5TH PLACE
A DAY MIXED IN CONFUSION END WITH A GOOD RESULT. 4TH AND 5TH PLACE ARE A GOOD IMPROVEMENT ON FINISHING 7TH AND 8TH IN THE QUALIFYING SESSION.
Race 3 of the Porsche GT3 season marked a big improvement for the team after a day of many confusions.
The day started perfectly for the team where ATF scored the fastest lap in the first Free practice session. The second session was a setup test for both drivers and trying new combinations was the goal. Moving to the qualifying session, both drivers struglled for grip and ATF and Faisal finished the qualifying session in 7th and 8th respectively.
The focus shifted to the race, but the race saw an eventfull start, and was stopped after the first lap when an incident involving Mohammad Matar and Manfred Ender hit each other. Both drivers had to retire but unharmed. Zaid Ashkanani had to retire after the race restart and the Saudi Falcons drivers fought hard to move up the feild. Faisal ran as high as 4th untill ATF reached him.
In general the race was a small improvement compared to the first round in Bahrain. The team is looking forward to step on the podium tomorrow.
On the other hand the team as usual was running its usual HD live stream service onboard from Faisal’s car and on track with Firas Al Nimri commentating, but unfortunately the service was not delivered in the best possible way due to the miserable internet connection provided by the Dubai Autodrome. The Internet woes would not prevent the team from working hard to resolve the issue for tomorrow’s race.
The live stream resumes tomorrow at the following link:
